BMX is a family sport and we welcome you and your family to our Club.
The Rockhampton BMX Club has been an important part of the community since 1975, and we currently have over 200 registered riders, male and female, aged from 2 years of age to over 40 years of age.
BMX racing is a year round sport. Rockhampton BMX Club races every Friday night of the school calendar (weather and track conditions permitting).
Racing commences at 6.30pm with nominations closing at 6.15pm. Riders compete in ability based divisions. Groups of up to 8 riders compete on the track in heats (motos). We race 6 motos for each class with a break after the first 3 motos. Scores are awarded for finishing positions. Riders under the age of 8 years compete as Sprockets and are not ‘competition based’. They are encouraged to enjoy the sport without the pressure of competition.
There are many avenues for development within the Sport of BMX. Competitions are regularly held at Club, Zone, State, National and International Level. BMX became an Olympic Sport in 2008 at the Beijing Olympic Games.
